Cullen at 4

When we lay in bed at night Cullen talks and talks to me. Tonight was interesting-

Cullen:  "Mommy tell me about bad guys."

Me: "Cullen there are no bad guys."

Cullen: "Yes, Bama bad guy (Obama).

Me: "Well he is not a bad guy he just makes bad decisions."

Cullen:  "Bama NOT my boss."

Me:  "Who is your boss?"

Cullen:  "Jesus"

next conversation:

Cullen: "Mommy when Ava and Ethan get baptized?"

Me:  "Soon."

Cullen: "I want to get baptized."

Me: "You can when you get older and have Jesus in your heart."

Cullen:  "I have God in my heart but not Jesus."

next conversation:

C:   "Lightning kill me in bath I not want to go to heaven, No wii or food there."

M:  "Heaven will be awesome, Jesus will have everything there for you."

C:  "When will I die?"

M:  "When you are very old."

C:  "I die in my sleep, my tummy needs food."

M: "No, I think you will be ok until you wake up in the morning and eat breakfast."

wanna play a little game of rummy

Every night after dinner we play a fun game of rummy. I have won three nights in a row and then Ethan and Ava came along and dethroned me. It has been one of the funniest things we do. I just love it.

measuring

Ethan can't wait to be 54 inches. When he gets 54 inches Nathan said he would take Ethan and they would go to Disney Land and ride ALL the roller coasters over and over and over.
Everything seems to be a competition these days between Ava and Ethan. Height also counts. Ava can't stand the fact that Ethan is catching up with her- and Ethan LOVES it. Poor Cullen has a ways to go.

waiting and waiting for snow...

the kids have waited and waited and waited some more and now...... we get ICE... it looks like snow on the ground but it's not. Cullen cried, all he wants is to make a snowball and throw it at his daddy.... Good thing we are going skiing or my children might be disappointed again this year with the snow.

Cullen's new friend

At our Homeschool group Classical Conversations we have met wonderful people and some have become really good friends. God has blessed us with Christian friends and I am so thankful.  Cullen has  met Aaron Hairr. It is so cute to see them play and talk. It is like two little men.  As Aaron was playing the other day at our house I got to know his mom Shaunda a little. It is such a small world because she goes to church with my friend Abby Gorman.  Also her in-laws live behind Nathan's farm. Come to find out we are some kin to them on Penina's side. What a small world.
I am so thankful God keeps putting Christian people in our life, especially for my children.
Needless to say Cullen had a wonderful day and he can't wait to see Aaron again.

3am

at 3am  Cullen whispered in my ear... "Mom you sleep with me in my bed, yes or no?"

I woke up and said yes, he gave me a big hug and said, "I love you forever."

I love that sweet boy

in the car you never know...

what will be said! I have laughed and laughed. Ethan is so funny and he loves to make us laugh. You never know what conversation will be started in the car. I love our car rides-

my athlete....

I don't think there is a sport Ethan would not try. I am so proud of him for that. Even though he LOVES Baseball he wants to play other things. Such a well rounded boy. My sweet, sweet Ethan Wallace.

It's a good day for some baseball...

My sweet boy, a flower for his mama
Sunday afternoon we had family day! Cullen was so excited to test out his new baseball bat and glove. Nathan pitched to Cullen and he really hit the ball. Nathan said Cullen will just start Coach pitch and not play tee ball because he is so good. Well Cullen loved that! He also loves to run the bases.
Nathan showing Cullen how to square up, and he takes it seriously.

Throwing ball to his big brother
Ava gets a few hits in, she did really good

Goal Accomplished!!!!

Ava read her bible 7 min. every day and she finished in a year. I am SO Proud of her. I have not even read my whole bible. What an accomplishment!

Evans' Book Club

Peanut butter sandwiches, grapes, salami- reading by the fire
Ava and Ethan are reading 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, Ava has already read it but wanted to read it with Ethan.
I love that my kids love to read.

the twins

After a long time of waiting, Mandy and Bill Jones have their twins! Holly and Logan!
Ava was in love when she held Holly! Such sweet, sweet babies!

Saturday mornings

My favorite time is Saturday mornings when we all sleep in and the kids get in bed with us and we all snuggle together.
Cullen loves to wrestle Nathan- and this morning he had weapons!

There's a NEW Monopoly King in town...

ANNOUNCING the King of Monopoly....Ethan Wallace Evans
Nathan has been dethroned!
First time playing Monopoly and Ethan beat all of us.
He was so excited! Now he wants to play every night-

reflection

2012
It was a year of:
love
happiness
tears
gaining friends
losing friends
watching family members grow old
growing in my marriage
watching my children get another year older and more independent
laughing
relaxing
growing closer to God
finding a church
forgiveness
confidence
thankfulness

the girls

the sweetest things....

i found this blog that I wrote a while back and never finished it. I love it b/c it is sweet memoires.

i always want to remember these days because the kids do the sweetest things.

Cullen will stand up in front of Ethan and wrap his arms around Ethan's waist and give him the biggest hug.

Cullen gives lots of kisses- I was rocking him to sleep and he picked his head up and looked at me and said, "nite-nite" and gave me the biggest kiss, then layed his head back down.

Ethan and I were playing the wii and I guess I did something right because all of the sudden Ethan said "Gradulations MOM, you did it".

Ava helping Cullen when he gets stuck in places he should not be.

that sweet sound of Cullen saying "MaMa" even if it is a million times a day...

words from the mouth of a child

at night Cullen loves to talk when I lay in bed with him. I never know what he will say or talk about. Last night this was the conversation..

Cullen "If me not eat me die."
Me "Yes, that would happen."
C "me go to heaven to be with Jesus."
Me " Yes, you would go to heaven because Jesus loves you."
C "me have Jesus and God in my heart, Alex have Jesus in his heart?"
Me "I don't know Cullen you will have to ask Alex tomorrow."

basketball time

Ethan loves to play sports. If it is not baseball, it's football or basketball... I am so glad I have a boy that loves sports and he is good at it.

true love

"You are the poem I dreamed of writing, the masterpiece I longed to paint. You are the shining star I reached for in my ever hopeful quest for life fulfilled. Now with all things I am blessed." -unknown

helloooo ladies

the ladies love him what can he say

blessed

“The process of parenting is one of the most spiritually formative journeys a man and a woman can ever undertake.  We cannot be the same people we once were; we will be forever changed, eternally altered. Spiritually speaking, we need to raise children every bit as much as they need us to raise them.”

"The CAVE"

Cullen's closet is so big we put our old mattress in there because we had no where else to put it. So it has been the new trampoline for the kids. The other night Ethan wanted to sleep in the cave and since it was Christmas vacation I let him. It is dark very dark and cool just like a cave. Ethan did not wake up the next morning until 10:30. Ethan always wakes up early but not when he sleeps in the CAVE. Now he has asked to sleep in there every night.
The other night Cullen wanted to sleep in the cave with Ethan and I let him. I overheard them talking and Ethan told Cullen, "if you have a bad dream don't go wake up momma, just wake me up."
My heart was filled with so much joy. The love my boys have for each other everyone should have with their sibling.

Happy New Year

Here we are again..it is time for our annual New Years Eve party. You never know what will happen or what to expect. It was a great time. We have our neighbors and friends come by. What a great night to ring in the new year with all of our friends. Stories were told from the past and there were lots of laughs!
