on the farm

Today was the day. The cows finally got to get out of the gate and graze in the fresh green grass. When Nathan first opened the gate the cows mooed and then Mama Boss went first. The other cows followed. They practically ran to the green grass. I have never seen cows run like that and I can now say I have seen a happy cow. They ran, ate, played, mooed. It was really a great moment. Ethan also rode is dirt bike by himself for the first time. We were so proud of him. Only a few falls but he got back on the bike and went on. I can't believe my baby boy is riding a dirt bike. What a bitter sweet moment.

Luke 2:1-20

Every year after breakfast we all gather round in mom and dad's living room, about 30 of us to hear my mother read the story of Jesus's birth. What a special thing my mother does. We take time out of the hustle and bustle of Christmas day to listen to the real reason we celebrate Christmas. I love this and I look forward to hearing her read it every year.

MERRY CHRISTMAS 2012

Ava was up first ready to go.... I went to turn on the video camera and away we go.....
Cullen was excited! Ninjago, Ninjago, Ninjago!  Ava was happy to see her Olivia Lego town and Ethan... well Ethan.... did not see the Dirt Bike he really wanted. He sat down in front of his toys and he had the saddest face I have ever seen. He sad I really wish I would have gotten a dirt bike. He was so disappointed he could not even play with his toys. After a few min. of Ava and Cullen playing with their toys we let the kids open their gifts from each other and then Ethan got to open the big box from Nathan and I. First he pulls out bike gloves, then a helmet... he still was not to sure what was going on. Nathan said "well now you have all the stuff for a bike maybe we will get you one." Then after a few min. Nathan told Ethan to go to the garage. And that frown turned upside down quick! He was SO happy. Words can't describe his JOY! It was a wonderful, wonderful morning. We finished opening presents and then celebrated Nathan's 38th birthday. Next we were off to Granny and Papa's to open more gifts. Mom read the story of Christmas from the Bible and then the kids tore into the presents!
A wrapping paper battle and lots of hugs!  We came home to rest before going on to Nathan's moms house for more presents! What a wonderful Christmas to be with the ones we love.
