down on the farm

down on the farm

We went to the farm yesterday to feed the cows. This is the highlight of Ethan's week, when he gets to go to the farm. I have not been much so I have not seen Ethan feed the cows. He knows all of them by name. Mama Boss, Fluffy, Torro, Mud Duck, Rosa. I asked him which one was Mama Boss and he told me "the one with pretty hair silly." When the cows see the truck they all start to come b/c they know it is time to eat. I was shutting the gate and I was getting a little nervous at all of them coming straight towards me... And of course my husband wanted to be funny and would not let me in the truck.. but he did and we were off to feed the cows.. I put Cullen in the back of the truck so he could not go anywhere and he was in heaven. He loves to be outside and he loved animals! Ethan showed me how he feeds the cows. Torro the bull is still skittish so he will not let you touch him. Nathan got out Ethan's tractor (it was Ethan's great granddad's tractor) everyone got a chance to drive it. Then the kids climbed the "dirt mountain"- after a fun time at the farm we headed for some hot dogs at Percy Flowers... what a fun day at the farm!

"watch my tricks mom"

"watch my tricks mom"

A few weekends ago we went to the Morehead city seafood festival. We happened to come across this group out of Greenville that did bike tricks. They were doing a show so we decided to watch. They had the ramps and all that stuff. Doing jumps and flips in the air on their bikes. I was impressed and you better believe Ethan never blinked. So ever since we have been home he wants to show me "tricks" on his bike. (that he has never wanted to ride until now). He is so serious and he really thinks he is really doing something and of course I cheer him on like he is.

Ever since Soccer started his self esteem has shot up and he is starting to break out of his shell and I am so so happy! So I am off to watch more "bike tricks" and hope they don't end up in a broken arm like Miss Ava Grace!

to my sweet, sweet Cullen Lee,

I love your silly little grin and your little toes, I love your blonde hair that looks white when the sun shines on it, I love those blue, blue eyes that sparkle, I love your sweet smile and your 7 little teeth (that sometimes bite me), I love your kisses (although, wet and slimy), I love your hugs, I love your smell, I love the way you call me Ma, I love your determination (even after the 50th time I have taken you off of the stairs), I love the way you get so excited when you see Ethan, I love the way you say oooo, ooo, when you see your daddy (your way of saying take me outside dad), I love the way you get quiet when you are doing something you are not supposed to do, I love that bottom lip that sticks out when your feelings are hurt, and I love the way you love me! You have added so much joy in my life that I could not have ever imagined. I love you, I love you, I love you!

Happy Birthday my baby boy!

the best of friends

the best of friends
Last night I went with Nathan to one of his best friends surprise birthday party. Joseph Hardee turned 35 and his wife Lisa put together a dinner at Sullivan's with all of his closest friends. She also made him the sweetest scrapbook that had pictures of Joseph with friends and family and everyone wrote something to him. As I sat there and I looked around I began to think how blessed this group of friends are. Not many people can say they have remained close to people they grew up with. In our lives people come and go but this group is different. Some meeting in grade school others years later, they have been there for each other through fun times, hard times, good times and not so good times and they still remain close. They still grab lunch together- they work out together- they babysit each others kids-some work together-they are like family. Not only did they grow up together now their kids are growing up together. That is special-something most people do not have.
What a wonderful group of people that truly are the best of friends.

HE'S TROUBLE!

I'm geting old....

I'm getting old....
The other day I am walking down the steps in my garage (with my hands full of stuff) and I fall.
Not trip but roll down the stairs - I am usually very careful and not too clumsy- even when I was pregnant I did not have accidents. Nathan did not see it but he heard something so he came over and saw me laying there thinking I had broken my hip- He checked me out and assured me I was ok. I am so bruised and sore you would think I have been beat-
so I blame it on getting old..... oh to be 20 again!
