Middle Child

The Middle Child

Even though you're not the oldest,
or even the youngest, you see,
Being in the middle is a really neat place to be!
The middle of a sandwich
is the most important part,
And in the middle of your body,
you will find your heart.
The engine in the middle
is what runs a good machine;
And our family wouldn't be the same
without you in between.

Oh, how I love you so Ethan Wallace. You have the sweetest heart - you asked Ava who she was going to marry. She replied "No one". Ethan said "Well I am going to marry you."
I watched you with your kitten the other day- you had rocked it to sleep and then you came into the house and told me "Don't go out there, because I just got Fuzzy to sleep!"
What a wonderful daddy you will be- the love you have for everyone and every little thing- even down to the little worms-amazes me and I am so proud to be your mom!

20 Months

Tomorrow you are 20 months old and my heart is overwhelmed to think in 4 months you will be 2. It is like yesterday I held you in my arms for the first time-

Cullen at 20 months....

His hiding place is the same no matter if he is in trouble or if he is playing- (Ethan's tent).
His mission first thing in the morning is to see what he can destroy that day,
things are broken, misplaced and the daily saying around our house "Cullen did it".
He is louder than any child I have ever been around so playing hide and seek with him is a disaster or shopping at Walmart with is voice echoing down the isle with everyone looking.
He has become very attached to his blanket and calls it his "night-night" just like Ethan did.
He is very territoral- he does not want you bothering his things esp. mommy.
I wish I could say he has a large vocabulary but he does not: baseball, mommy, daddy, bo bo (ethan), bull, night-night is about it- but I know he knows what things are- when he is thirsty he goes to the refrig and hangs on to the door and hangs his tongue out like a dog - when he is hungry he opens the pantry door and grunts and when he wants me to hold him he stands infront of me with his hands up in the air and squeals.... This is Cullen Vocabulary
He is very much like Nathan- determined and tough (he has fallen so many times and he does not cry- last week a hornet stung him 3 times- never a tear), loves the boat and to sword fight, banana's and yoohoo's and 2 Pac (don't ask b/c I just don't know but I have started praying)
He has this mischivious grin - so when you see it be prepared b/c he has done something bad.
His blue eyes will melt your heart and that baby face will make you fall in love with him-
He is loud and wild and more than a handful but I would not have him anyother way, he has completed our family and made us whole and we love every inch of our sweet, sweet blonde bear!

Summer is HERE!!!

It has been a long winter for the Evans family and now Summer is here! Daddy's little helpers were ready to drive the boat- Ethan likes to go fast... Cullen not so much! Long days on the boat- movies at night in our pjs- and lots of family time! So for the next 2 months you can find us at Evans Street in Morehead City!

end of school

Ava's last day of school was Thursday- we have counted down for the past 4 weeks! The day ad come and she was so excited but when I picked her up she was sad. She has amazed me this year! Her writing is wonderful and the stories she comes up with amazes me. She has already written 2 books on her own (keep in mind they are only a few pages long but it has a beginning, middle and end, her reading and artwork is outstanding- see pics below-And I can't forget to mention the award she got for the year was Personal Excellence. Nathan and I are so proud of our Ava Grace- She is going to do great things!
Ethan Wallace... my sweet, sweet Ethan Wallace Graduated from Preschool- He was excited- When Nathan asked him what he was going to do now he does not have school, Ethan replied "Sleep in"..... Ethan was asked if he got 1 million dollars what would he buy ... he said "a house", and when he grows up he wants to be a painter (like his Papa)! Ethan received the Kind hearted award at school. No surprise there. We are so proud of Ethan too- this past year he has really come out of his shell- We can't wait to see the great things E man will do!

"Big Papa's"

Lately Ethan has been talking about big muscles- He wants to have big muscles like daddy- so Ethan has been picking up Nathan's weights and "working out"! The other day Ethan asked Nathan if he wanted to see his "Big Papa's" and then he flexed--- it was so funny b/c Ethan was very serious. Last night we went to the ice cream shop and the lady said "I'll give an extra scoop to the fellow with the big muscles". (this was out of the blue b/c we don't even know this lady) Ethan's eye's lite up- when we got in the car and Nathan said "Ethan, how did she know you had big muscles?" and Ethan's response... (because she saw my Big Papa's)!

"Kid day"

The other night we were looking on Ava's calendar and she noticed how many "days" there were- Mother's Day, Father's Day, Flag Day, Memorial Day etc. the next morning I went in her room to fold clothes and I noticed this....

guess she decided Kid's Need a day too. So it is official tell your children June 3rd is Kid Day!
