I know there are going to be first. First tooth, First step, First word but I am not ready for this first................kiss.
After preschool the other day Cullen came home and said, "Mommy today Malania give me a kiss on the lips." I said, "Cullen what did you do?" He replies, "I wipe it off, and I pray to God because I think she needs a spanking!"
I just smiled. My sweet 4 year old little boy.
Memorial Weekend
It was a wonderful long family weekend. We played games, watched a movie, ate at the shiny diner, went to the farm and grilled out. We slept in and relaxed. A perfect family weekend.
A perfect day
all of us slept to 9:30 am, which is rare these days, we went to the farm and rode the 4 wheeler and Ethan rode the dirt bike, Cullen played in the mud, the muddy farm mud and he loved it. We watched the cows and had a wonderful day. Ethan had a bad spill on the dirt bike, his first one and a bad bruise to show for it but thankfully he was not hurt bad- Nathan told him he had to get back up and go again, Ethan resisted but then he rode more. I see Nathan teaching life lessons to the children and I love it.

a 4 year olds thank you
today Cullen did something on his own that made me smile.
We ate at chick-fila and the lady brought him an ice cream cone and he said thank you but that is not all
after he ate the ice cream and went to the bathroom he came back and as we were leaving he passed the lady that gave him the ice cream and said "Thank you for my ice cream."
I had not said anything about it - we were talking about something else, but he had it on his mind and in his heart to say thank you one more time-
these are the moments I think to myself ,you are doing something right.

giving from the heart
Ava has such a giving heart. Tonight she told me she wanted to take her allowance she got for her chores this week and put it in the offering plate at church on Sunday.
A 9 year old that has more chores than 90% of girls her age, wanted to take her hard earned money for that week and give it to church. What a wonderful example she is -

well behaved
I am thankful for a lot of things but this is up there. My children are very well behaved in public. We have had strangers come up to us at dinner many times and tell us how well behaved our children are. The other day at the dentist, Dr. Whitworth mentioned to me how well behaved they were. Also, at the Mudcat game Nathan took the boys and while the other children were acting nuts, our boys sat there and ate their hot dog and watched the game. I have even had other parents ask me what my secret is.
We are not perfect parents but we have gotten a few things right.
