Ava and Ethan had their Thanksgiving Feast at school Monday. Ava sang her songs and smiled-no surprise b/c she loves a crowd and attention- Ethan on the other hand had a look on his face kinda like the one in this picture... he did not sing and when he looked at me I would say smile and I would smile big.. but he would just give me a look and shake he head no. Poor guy,, he was not interested in having all eyes on him- he's my shy one!! Happy Thanksgiving everyone... Take time to thank God for all your blessings,,,I know I do every day!

TURNING 5.......

My heart broke Sunday morning as I woke up to my little girl singing.."I am five, oh yeah, I am five"... I can not hardly believe it. Time has gone by so fast. It was just yesterday when we brought her home for the very first time. Nathan and I took her to every room in the house and showed her all around. She was asleep of course but we were so excited! We started calling her our little bug, because I would wrap her up in a blanket so tight and all you could see was her chubby face and she looked just like a little sweet bug. The first word she said, the first steps she took, the first time she wrote her name..... I am so proud Ava is my daughter, one thing that happened a few weeks ago- Ava was at our neighbors house for a birthday party. The birthday girl got a little bossy and all the other girls got upset and left the birthday girl and went to another room to play. The birthday girl started to cry but one little girl stayed with her--- that little girl was my Ava. She did not follow the crowd and even though the bday girl was wrong in acting the way she did, Ava knew it would be wrong to leave her. When the mom told me this story I cried and I am crying now as I write this b/c I was so proud of her and I hope and pray she stays this way as she grows up. This story reminded me of a bible verse, do unto others as you would have done unto you- and she did.

Ava,
I want you to always be silly and dance your silly dances. Your kindness shows wherever you go, continue to be kind to everyone, you never know who's life you will touch. Sing, sing, sing... you are always singing- Your songs brighten my day...I am so proud of you. Your eagerness to learn, your love to do school work, your kind heart, your beautiful smile, your funny laugh.. You are growing up so fast, you can't wait to be a big girl and I can't wish enough that you stay small. I love you more than words.. you are my love, my smile, my little bug!

Our Daddy, Our Hero

This past weekend Nathan accomplished one of his many goals, to run a marathon. His time was 4 hours and 55 min. He has been training for about a year. We are so proud of him. Nathan is so determined and when he sets his mind to it, nothing will stop him until he has completed the task. That is what I have always loved about him. That strong drive he has to never give up. This is one of the reasons he is such a great father, he is such a wonderful role model to our children, teaching them by example- you can do anything if you put your mind to it!

We love you Daddy!!!!

Welcome to the Jungle....

"WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE"

Today we were coming home from my parents house and Ethan asked me where were we going. I told him we were going home. A few seconds went by and it was very quiet, and then Ethan started to sing "peas take me home", over and over. I thought he was just singing a song that he made up about going home. Then a few min. later Ava starts to sing "Take me down to the paradise city where the grass is green and the girls are pretty, want you please take me home." I was taken back that she was singing a Guns N' roses song but then I thought, Nathan Evans is her daddy. That night at dinner Ethan started to sing his little song again, and I mentioned how cute it was. Then Nathan pointed out that on the way to school this morning the three of them were jammin' to Guns N' Roses, so Ethan had not made up a new song-he was singing good ol' "Paradise City". Needless to say they don't hear that music when mommy takes them to school.. We listen to Veggie Tales....

"Ava's Butterflies"

Ava has a butterfly kit she has been taking care of. She has waited and waited for the butterflies to come out of the cocoon and they finally have!
She is so excited!! She feeds them everyday. She has 4 of them, Bubbles, Callie, Ice Cream and Candy!!!! In a few days we will have to let them go outside. I am sure that will be a sad day for Ava. She becomes so attached to animals.. I asked her one day what she wanted to be when she grows up, thinking she would say an animal doctor, but she said....
A cooker and a singer.... She loves Rachel Ray and Hannah Montana.... I should have known....
