"My Nite-Nite"

I wish I could freeze this time and have Ethan stay 3... The innocence in his voice, his honesty and no matter what kind of day he is having he will always give me one of his bear hugs!

Whenever I am not with Ethan, if I have gone to the grocery store or out for a little while, when I come home Ethan will say "Mom, sometimes I cry because I so worried about you." The first time he told me that I started to cry- b/c I can't imagine what a 3 year old has to worry about. But it made me feel so loved b/c he missed me.

Ethan has this blanket he loves, we call it his "nite-nite". He loves to rub two of the corners on his lips when he falls asleep, but not just any two corners his "circle string" corners... I can't tell one from the other but he knows... As I watch him with his blanket, I think of the things that bring me comfort.... after a long night of being up with a sick child (my coffee) but most of all, My Family!

God has blessed me more than I could have ever asked Him too, and I am so thankful!!!
Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good. His love endures forever. Psalms 136:1

"AVA READS"
This past year I have been working on school work with Ava. We have worked on money, addition, subtraction, greater and less than, letter sounds, rhyming, the continents, writing her name, phone number, address, etc. we have been busy. But the thing with Ava is she ask me to do school work, so I have to find things for us to do to keep busy. Ava told me the other day she wanted to learn to read so here we are. We got our hooked on phonics and today she read her first short story book. I am so proud of her!!!! I can't explain the joy that it brings me when my kids learn something new and I see that sparkle in their eye b/c they are so proud of themselves- One of the many joys of being a mother!

Feeding "Big Mama"

Today we went to see Grandad and Grandma. They have a deer that has come to their house for years to eat. Now she will let you feed her. The kids were so excited!!! Big Mama loves Bread and Fig Newtons..... It was a fun afternoon!!!!!

Fabulous Friday's!!!

Friday is our Special day!

The fun starts after lunch when the kids get home from preschool.

Depending on what I have we will either bake cookies or have a ice cream sundae party.... Lots of sprinkles, cherries and whip cream... I let the kids make it themselves- Ethan loves vanilla ice cream with chocolate syrup, whip cream and blue sprinkles,,, Ava loves vanilla ice cream, whip cream, lots of sprinkles and a cherry on top... Later that night they get to stay up late and watch a movie, Ava gets her "special" bath in our tub with the jets--- and her candles... then we pull out the sleeping bags and they get to sleep in mommy and daddies room- Oh, how we look forward to our Fabulous Friday's....

"Best Friends"

Last night Ethan woke up crying, before I could get to him Ava was already there. She is the first to make sure her little brother is ok. Yes, sometimes she calls him a "knucklehead" and he aggravates her but she would not have it any other way. Some days out of the blue they will hug and tell each other "I love you", this is the sweetest thing b/c I know it is coming from their heart.
Other times they do argue and fuss so I make them have quiet time in their room, this does not bother Ava, she does not mind playing by herself, but it breaks Ethan's heart. Even though she gets on his nerves sometimes he can't be without her. When her door is shut, he will lay in front of the door, looking under it and talk to her. Saturday mornings Ethan is up first thing but Ava likes to sleep in. Ethan is ok for about an hour then he starts asking can he wake up his sissy , b/c he misses her.
I am so thankful they are so close and love each other, I know as they get older they will go their separate ways but I hope they will always be
Best Friends.
Down by the Creek

I took the kids down to the creek today to take some pictures. Ava was in heaven because she loves to get dressed up and have her picture taken. Even if there is no camera in sight, she will pose and ask you to take her picture. Ethan on the other hand could care less about a camera he is just plain silly. But today he was an excellent listener because he was near water, he knew if mommy turned her back for just a min. there was a possibility he could get wet! And of course he did. It was a fun morning and lots of laughs!
